    Hi all,

I think I'm taking the plunge & gonna finally get Xbox Live!

After a little research I think I'm gonna go with Pipex 1MB unlimited service, about £23 I think.

I have a couple of newbie questions:

    1. I guess the supplied adsl modem is usb?

    2. To use Xbox Live I will need to replace this modem with a router modem right?

    3. Providing I have the correct cables will I need to carry out any configuration on the PC/Xbox or do I simply connect the cables?

    4. Anyone encountered any problems using Xbox Live with Pipex?

    Thanks all.

Always been fione for me. What you have suggested is also what I did with a cheap ADSL modem router. The X Box configured itself and I was well away!

    Still crap at games though!

I think I'm paying about £23 for Pipex 514k connection. (Including VAT which is not included in their listed prices)

    Hi Monster,

Glad it worked out for you, out of interest what modem/router did you opt for?

    Cheers.

Its an Origo ASR 8400 ADSL Router.

Connects via USB. And easy to set up. It must be because I managed it.

It was about £30 from www.ebuyer.com

Get yourself set up. You wont regret it. It adds a whole new dimension to gaming!

Sorry to drag up an oldish thread.

Pipex have just released new changes to the line ups.

1Mb, for the same price as your paying for the 512, and 2Mb, for the £33 that use to be the 1Mb price.
