    Hiya people

Now I understand how to setup Xbox live, I have realised I might have a small problem. I don’t believe I have a Network Interface Card on my laptop, however, I do have an available Ethernet port. What i do have though is a National Semiconductor Corp MacPhyter PCI Adapter. I do know though that this MacPhyter PCI Adapter is designed for easy implementation of 10/100 Mb/s Ethernet Lans. Basically, I just need confirmation that i will indeed be able to connect an Xbox into this Ethernet port. You see, I’m changing my Internet Service Provider to BT, so as I can get a combined ADSL modem and router for the Xbox live set-up.

    Regards

    Jay

    Hi Jay,

can i just but this in English first :D - as i'm a bit confused.

If your laptop has an Ethernet port then it has a network card. connect that to a router/modem, the xbox to the router/modem and the router/modem to the phone line - job done.

or you could put a wireless PCMCIA card into your lappy (and a wireless router/modem) and be wireless with it.

i use one of these these and these

if i'm barking up the wrong tree let me know and i'll try and help.

    Gary
