Is there any way of stopping my little 'un spending gamerpoints on Live Arcade games or indeed buying new gamerpoints short of banning him from the Xbox? He's only 5 and claims he did it by accident but he's smart as a tack and devious to boot! :)

I've tried to tinker with the security settings but these don't seem to protect against spending gamerpoints or ordering new ones.. which is literally just a couple of clicks as your credit card info etc is stored.

You can set up family settings on any Live account and you get options like being able to restrict premium content, what age DVDs they can watch, and many more. I think it's in the system's blade.

I have gamer points via the cards and don't do credit card details. Maybe you could find out a way to remove the auto credit card charge option and just stick to prepaid stuff. ;)

I read that and laughed - how many swear words do you want your little 'un to learn ;)

Best bet is to make his own account and password lock yours.

Yor best removing credit card details off the system altogether and just use the Pre-Paid card system for LIVE subscription and Microsoft Point's

    OR

Don't let your little'n on the console unless supervised

Disconnect it from the network when you're not there?

I used to have an XBox 360 and went on Live a few times.
I don't like foul language and sadly was exposed to a fair bit of it.

No way would I let a 5 year old on live. But that's just me.

If anyone finds a way of doing this, other than waiting for it to expire, then I would like to know because the only option I can see is to amend the details and not delete them.

Think you have to phone Msoft.

When my Credit Card expired they carried on charging for a monthly Live Sub (yeah I know:suicide:). When your Gold Live expires they will attempt to charge the card to keep the service running and the bill is getting bigger until you clear all the charges you've run up, they don't cancel the service you just run up a bill.

I've tried and can find no other way of removing a credit card other than phoning them.

They will still provide Live for a few months, and you'll have to pay them back for that at some point even if you've not been on Live.

Shouldn't be able to buy points though.

I thought the whole point of the new, 360, Live service was you didn't have to have a credit card registered to make it more accessible to more people. I also thought once your Gold membership ends it just changes to a Silver membership until you subscribe again.
