    From : http://www.onesouthclan.com/gamercard.html

If you use a PC (XP / 2000) you can download a Konfabulator "Gamer Card" Widget from Here.

If you use Mac OS 10.4 you can download a Dashboard "Gamer Card" Widget here.

    Konfabulator 2.1. (Windows XP / 2000 & Mac OS X) is available from www.konfabulator.com/download

You can see below what it looks like in use on my PC. Once you have it downloaded and unzipped it. Start up the widget and as shown below "Right click" it and chose "Widget Preferences". Type the desired Gamer-Tag and click save. The Gamer Card is then updated. ;)

I hope "CAS FAN" is OK about me using his Gamer Card / Gamer Tag to demonstrate. ;)

It'd be better if you could have more than one open at once though, to compare...

hmm nice one! I will have to download this :smashin: good spot! It would be good if you could have say a number of cards of people you play against the most down the left of your screen. Or even if you could fill your desktop with cards from people on your friends list.

Oohhhh go on then, seeing as it's for the good of fellow forum members ;) .

Sorted it! You just need to copy the gamercard widget for as many cards as you wish to display!!

you can do this without using a widget. just right click on your (windows) desktop, goto the desktop tab of properties, click "customize desktop..." then the web tab. click the "new..." button to add a webpage then use this URL:

    http://gamercard.xbox.com/giuseppe rossi.card

just swapping the "giuseppe%20rossi.card" for your own name (use %20 instead of a space if you have a one in your name). bingo any gamercard you like on your desktop. set the lock web items option to unlock, resize it then lock web items again to make it look tidy.

If you've got Konfabulator installed from www.konfabulator.com/download Look in the "My Widget's" folder that it creates in the "My Documents" folder. you''l find a widget called "The Weather" that's the one Cas Fan's using. If you want a smaller one try this one. Don't forget to have a look at www.widgetgallery.com they've got a thousand plus free widgets!

    I hope this helps. ;)

OT: It's an Iguana crawling on the wifes leg whilst we were on our Honeymoon in the Caribbean in September :smashin: . They are extremely friendly and all you have to do is get a banana out and before you know it they come scurrying out of the bushes and are all over you. If you like Lizards then the Caribbean is a great destination! Just at our resort we saw 100's, mainly Iguanas but numerous other varieties as well.

Anyway I love the way you can display numerous gamer cards with this new system, which you can't do using the standard system of customising the desktop. I must say that this widget program is pretty cool, not used it before and there are loads of great widgets to be had!

    hi cas fan,

sorry, not deliberately trying to put down the widget thingy (looks quite cool and interesting) but you can add as many gamercards to your desktop as you like with the standard XP desktop settings, just create a new item for each one with the correct gamertag in it.

Ah yes, so you can. I do like the extra things that you can do with these widgets though - not dabbled before.

This widget is also great if you're not on Live yet and want to see if your desired gamertag is taken or not - useful if you want to think of your tag before you get your 360 rather than sitting in front of the telly watching the usual endless "Name already taken messages..."

It's worth looking up Major Nelson's Gamercard as he's completed a couple of achievements now on Kameo and Hexic, so you can see how that works.

That's pretty cool, I like the way the achievements thing has been done, especially the way that you can directly compare how far you've got in a game to other people. I guess it adds another dimension to the 1 player side of things in that your achievement is there for all to see.

Ah, that'll be something to do with you being 'Underground' I guess. Window may need resizing - I'll let Stuart know so if he resizes the window to fit the games played icons come Dec 2nd, he can make sure this is ok too.

Thanks for posting this. I was looking for one earlier and just happened to stumble upon this. Great stuff.

Why have some people already got 3 stars for a reputation? I don't have any stars.

does any one else's seem to lose their details after a bit, mine seems fine for the first day then just goes blank until I put the gamertag back in.

got to say I'm very glad this was posted I've got loads of widgets on my desktop now and I've even created my own football news one (based on the BBC RSS feed one).

Don't forget it's still in beta, keep checking the site for updates. ;)

They certainly look good on the desktop. It'll be great to instantly know if friends / clan members are online etc. Even better when there's a lot more "Gamer Tiles" to go round.

    i'm quite enjoying these.

is there a way to change the colour of the name in my gamertag? or does it indicate whether i am online or something.

in the pics which others have posted the text is black - on mine it is green - on some of the major nelson ones it's red.
