Xbox Live Down 28th March 2011

Is any one else having problems connecting to Xbox LIVE today? I was on-line perfectly fine watching SKY Player and then just disconnected me and I've been having trouble re-connecting ever since. When 'Testing Connection' i'm getting the following error, which i've never seen before;

"Your console can connect to Xbox LIVE, but your router or gateway isn't properly responding to ICMP responses"

As I say, never seen this before and I rarely get any connection problems. Had the odd NAT Type being set to Moderate for some reason, but that's always been fixed by simply resetting both the router and Xbox.

Hashtag search on Twitter (#XboxLIVE) suggests a lot of people are having problems, particularly in the UK. I'm actually connected now, but trying to get an on-line game is proving impossible :thumbsdow

So i got an imcp message today and tried to access xbox.com

The website doesn't load and i cant connect to xbox live either. I'm assuming that Xbox live is down.

Either some trainee technician applied the wrong setting and caused all this to happen :rolleyes::rolleyes:or its possible an unknown bug or glitch in the Xbox Live system has caused this.:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Anyone else having hassle connecting to Xbox.com or Xbox Live:rolleyes:

Xbox LIVE seems to have been down for about the last hour or so.

I can access the support website, it says:

Xbox LIVE - Up and Running

Xbox LIVE Marketplace - Up and Running

Service Alert

Marketplace - Up and Running

"Users may experience difficulties with the following services:
  • Users may experience issues using the license transfer utility on xbox.com.
We are aware of the problem and are working to resolve the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience"

It seems (for me and my friend at least) that the problem seems to be more with signing into profiles rather than the Xbox LIVE servers.

Would be nice to know if any other users are experiencing the same problems.

Also, it doesn't seem to matter which game you're playing.

As mentioned previously just logged into xbox live - went to start homefront multi player and it logged me straight out. i'm in Portsmouth and with Sky broadband now cannot access xbox live at all. If its not the Homefront servers its something else. Gotta say my experience of Xbox and this game recently has been pretty sh*t!
