    Hi all

My most favourite game online is Counter-Strike.
(infact the only game i play since completing Halo)

does anyone know if there will be any updates to this
amazing title in the near future on xbox?

I think improvements could be made on the graphics
especially with such good looking games as
    Splinter Cell \ Halo 1 & 2.

Will games like Call of Duty \ Battle field ever come
    to xbox live?

I own games like Top Spin & Splinter Cell PT but can never be
    dragged away from Counter-Strike.

    Cya,
    Shaz

There hasn't been an update on PC for over 5 years, so I doubt it :)

CZ has just come out but that basically a step backwards :(

I have started playing it again on PC and have quickly become addicted (for the 3rd time!), it simply is the best multiplayer FPS ever created.

Herin lies the problem with this game, some people play it all day long and I find I get whacked as soon as I start. I have persevered with it but not found it to be my kind of thing.

    Probly flog it shortly.

    GRIT still rules for me.

Not sure what the weapons are called I am too used to the old CS where they had the proper names.

    Faves weapons are :-

    Desert Eagle (big pistol)
    AK47
    Automatic Shottie

    Fave maps are :-

    Dust 2
Survivor (no one else seems to like playing it tho)
    Aztec

Not too sure what it is like on X-Box Live, I imagine it is not a game that lends itself too well to the service as you really do need a large amount of players per side, minimum of 8 to really make it enjoyable.

The PC version also benefits from dedicated servers, which means there are a lot more options in terms of mods, custom maps. For newbies it is also better as you can join newbie servers which will auto kick people who are too good (you can get kicked in one round if you shoot an entire team :) ).

Some people play this game 12 hours a day at least ><!

I used to be addicted to CS on the PC and was debating getting it for the Xbox but was concerned about the controls, have they done a good job making it playable on a pad? Coz now it can be picked up in most stores for £25 i think so it could be worth a look if the control is good, plus i'm getting bored of the wall hack cheats that every other person seems to have on the PC version now.

    Nooooo don't!!! its too good.

I wouldn't rate myself as excellent but I can "survive" for a good while.
At least taking out 2 players before I get shot down.

    Why not try :

    - joining a server where the stats are not posted,
so you won't find too many people that are "kill hungry".
    - joining your online friends so at least there is some
co-operation. Sorta like being in a clan but where you dont
always have to comit yourself to being in one
    - creating your own server so you can kick "campers" off the
game there are people who continually stay in one spot
and pick out people with a powerful sniping rifle, sure there's a
skill involved in sniping but it makes the game boring.

Ive grown to be good friends with people playing CS on xbox live,
and we all work in pairs, where we plan our routes and organise
our attack procedures such as flash bangs and following them up
    with a burst of gun-fire.

With my lifestyle I dont have much time to play computer game
watch many movies... :( but I chose CS as my fav game cuz there
is so much action involved in such a short ammount of time!

Looks like i will be selling splinter cell PT real soon!

    Best of luck !

yeah i heard abt those cheats too, a friend plays CS on a PC
during the week, but when he is at home at the weekend prefers
the xbox version. He said there is skill & more importantly fun
involved in the xbox version. On the xbox there is skill involved in
aiming and "burst firing" with the trigger eg it takes time to get
good with head shots. Where as on the PC its just a matter
of clicking on the mouse on the head of the enemy and the game
    lasts seconds.

After playing on my widescreen with 5.1 sounds its so hard to turn
    to my PC.

ooooooh desert eagle..... u pimp, you!
That is such an awesome pistol u can blast through wooden
boxes with that!! And the AK47 is superb, but is so hard to
control.. u have to burst it! ie tap the trigger but for no more
    than a second! ;)

I think Survivor is PC specific, I haven't seen that one on xbox
    (yet).

Those are my fav maps too.

The xbox version has a map called "miami" its quite popular.

As long as a game has 5 a side players on it then it works out great.
The other day we had only knife fight on Italy, it was so
    wierd playing without shooting!

Yeah CS on xbox rules.. somehow it returns you to the days of gaming innocence before aimbots and wallhacks.

Tried Rainbow 6 on xbox; but just cant get over the small FOV (field of vision) - think it must be 30 degrees.... cant stand the slow, ponderous pace!

CS would be a 10 out of 10 if they had improved upon some of the textures and the resolution, and where are all the additional maps that we were promised? So I give it a 9.9/10.

In defence of the PC version, wallhacks and aimbots are not that common, extremely good players are. I used to be a fairly good player (rusty now after over a year of not playing) often topping the leader board game after game, I would get accusations of wall hacks and aimbots all the time. I have never loaded a cheat in my life.

My friend used a hack quite a bit, he still wouldn't get top of the board because he was crap at the game. Wallhacks made it more confusing as you can't tell the level properly and people don't always appear in time.

Headshots are not that easy really. It will take you a good while and it is not as easy as just floating the mouse over esp against a moving target :)

As far as the recoil and spray goes, it is controllable, you can fire AK at full auto in close range and get kills. At least on the PC version recoil goes in a T so at first the aim goes up then from left to right.

    *******

AK you should really aim at around high chest height, the recoil will take the gun onto the head area, then it is a case of moving the gun around to counteract the recoil, so you pull it down and to the left and right.

For long range yup you do have to fire in bursts :)

My only current problem is the auto snipers, these are now god like, extremely accurate and auto firing. At least with the AWP you had to be skillful.

Still it is the best multiplayer FPS still and it will be for a long while, until someone brings out a updated version of it on another engine.
