Hi all - some advise needed please! :lease:

I get broadband through Virgin Media and have one ethernet cable coming from their modem. At the moment, I have to keep on taking the cable out from PC to XBox whenever I want to go online on each.

Is there some simple splitter or something that I can use or do I need a router? Basically, I have one output from my modem that I need to convert into two ethernet cables.
Am I right in thinking that NetGear routers are the ones that work best with Virgin Media.

Yes, it's called a router.

or do I need a router?

Um, yes, you need a router.

The only other alternative I can think of would be use your PC to do the routing by using internet connection sharing, but you'd need 2 NICs in your PC and you'd have to have the PC switched on when you want to use the network connection on the XBox.
