My friend asked me the other day if he can connect to xbox live without a PC, but wasn't sure of the answer.

He has just taken up a sky package where he gets free broadband and wondered if he could just connect a router to his line and then connect his xbox. Does anyone know if this would work, or do you have to have a PC.

    Thanks

You can connect the xbox direct to the router with a cable or get a wireless adapter for the xbox and connect to a router that supports wireless.

    Both options work well.

if he has a router then a pc/mac is not required at all

as stated, simply plug an ethernet cable from the xbox into the router (it comes free with the 360 premium)

    or get the wireless adapter

however, if his sky box and xbox are next to each other, chances are, the telephone socket for the router is there too

therefore, the ethernet cable would be a much better option
