Tiscali, if you use alot of bandwidth 'throttle' your connection. So dont use it alot or you will see very slow speeds.I got rid of them cos of this reason(they made it a hassle for 2 months) Now with talk talk and no probs, cheaper and faster!!!!

How much bandwidth do you have to use in a month before they start doing this. I'm currently with Wanadoo and I've got to change as I'm averaging 19GB a month with a 2GB a month limit. :rotfl:

I was thinking about switching to Tiscali because they seem awfully cheap but I haven't even got Live yet and I'm using nearly 20 gigs a month already so I can see myself topping 25GB a month, would that be enough for them to slow down my connection?

Thanks for your responses so far. It`s great to get something cheap and to hear no one really has had noticable problems. It`s just that i`m starting this package next week and plan to go on XBox Live say 3 or 4 times a week say for 2/3 hours each time. Do you guys think that 1meg will keep me happy?

My mate is with Tiscali and hates it.

Like Baldybouncer said they throttle your bandwidth if you download too much.

Also they won't give you the code you need to switch providers quickly. So if you want to change ISP you have to cancel with Tiscali first, wait a few weeks to be disconnected, then sign up with your knew provider and wait another week or so to be connected.

This is what is putting my mate off switching as he doesn't want to be without broadband for weeks.

I've been with BT (now BT Yahoo) for a few years now and have never had one single problem at all. It is a bit more expensive though.

...I am now with talktalk for £14.99 a month unlimitted 1meg. I download loads of stuff with no problems and the line speed is usually about 1.25 - 1.5 meg too!!!
