Xbox live and H2...

Ok, I'm new to this and noticed that when playing Halo 2 live, some people have the ability to do what i can only describe as ''cheat'', ie i'm about to obliterate them and they just vanish into thin air and reappear at the other end of the arena as if by magic, others can appear to auto aim in sniper mode and kill me off at will. How do i redress the balance?? (hope that description makes sense to someone).

 

The sniper aim is because they maybe are using the mouse and keyboard adapter? The game does feature a vague auto aim so you can get head shots fairly easy with a sniper rifle - at long range.
As for teleporting could be lag or something? They are a few glitches though so might be one of them.
As for help with the game - up your look settings that will help you turn faster, and learn the maps remember you can set up a custom game with just you playing so you can run around the maps and know where all the waepons are, good sniper spots etc.

 

It's not lag, i'm playing over either a 1 or a 2 mps connection, anyway you can hear them cackling in the headset when they do this. I'm pretty sure it's an in game cheat of some description.

 

the cheat u describe is a called the dummy cheat. this means there able to teleport across the map in such games as ctf. this has been going on for a few weeks now and because its always done, has turned me off H2. remeber to leave cheating feedback if u see it happen again. oh, and check the game viewer just to be sure.

 

Halo and halo 2 have an semi auto aim(more like a aim assist) built into the game because we are using joypad and not mouse and keyboards - you only have to get the cross hair fairly close to the head and the bullet will hit.
Most other xbox live games also have a vague aim assist built in.

True.
However, as many amazing people there are, there are always those that will try and cheat.
Last night was the first time for me that someone on my team actually announced that he was going to use standby.
Two flag captures in 2 mins on Water works, they were so quick that there wasn't even time for the voiceover "Flag Taken" to be announced.

Not clever and not skilled. Hopefully Bungie will receive enough negative feedback to look into it and he will join the thousands that have been suspended over the last few weeks.

I've been on the losing end of that trick a good few times but that's LIVE for you.
