Is it just me or is the XBOX link cable just a CAT5e cable?

that's it..but I think it has to be a crossover cable. I could be wrong, that may be the one you have to have to route through a cable modem for online play..

crossover cable? As in reversed pairs? or somthing else? We can make them all at work anyway as we have a crimp gun for this sort of thing.

Looks very much like a cat 5, peer to peer without a hub would be crossover, not straight. Will test with my crossover from pc to pc when i get my x box.

Most factory xover cables have an 'X' on the plugs. Should be written on the cable too. I would expect it to be a standard xover cable on the xbox, no harm in trying (except for blowing it sky high). Only joking.
