I was thinkin of gettin1 to use on a plasma screen but are the benefits significant over conventional inputs ie:svhs scart

No point getting it really unless you have a US Xbox or a chipped PAL one. The standard PAL Xbox doesn't output in progressive. Your better of sticking with RGB SCART.

Even if you have a standard PAL Xbox, the picture quality from Component is far better than an SVHS connection, sharper, better colour definition etc.

It's better (IMHO) than RGB scart, and depending on the plasma panel you may not have that connection type (may require a tuner box)

I'd recommend it, over the advanced AV pack / RGB Scart.

Agree with Jason , it's the best method of connection to a plasma so you should use it if possible.

Will the high def pack work with an standard uk xbox though, and how do you set it on the dashboard as currently there is only RGB?????

I am also buying a plasma and want to connect xbox via component as it should be an improvement, can you confirm it is worth having over Advanced RGB scart

Just plug it in and it works

Yes, it is better than the RGB scart into a plasma as you don't need to do any conversion via a tuner box or convertor and it feeds in at the highest possible input type.

I had mine before I chipped my (PAL) X-Box and I was amazed at the difference in clarity between the two.

I have a new Official Hi-Def kit spare. It's not boxed because it came out of a special edition Xbox but is still sealed in polythene and has the leads that come with it..
£22.50 incl recorded post.:) (guessing around £2.50 post)
