Is there a great difference between the two? The LCD tv i've got my sights on has DVI, VGA but no component inputs.

I also wondered whether not using the proper xbox hi def kit will cause problems with the resoltutions settings in the dash?

vga looks better then component and the M$ dash is a bit funky in HD mode as it wasnt made for HD for some funny reason (im running vga on a pw6)

I'd second VGA looking better. As for the dash I only go into the MS one to change video settings (for the HD). It's very pink, but just about viewable.
