In all the Christmas "I've got an Xbox" excitement, I managed to order a hi-def cable from Play Asia (which arrived today - nice quick service). I managed to forget however, that I haven't actually bought a plasma yet, and my trusty Panny CRT TV of course has no idea what to do with the nice component signals!

Just checking that there is nothing clever and easy I can do to interface this to a RGB scart connection? I assume my only options till I get the plasma are to buy another s-video cable (i want the opitical connection, which I why I wasn't just sticking with the supplied cable for the time being) or get something like http://www.syncblaster.com/Syncblaster_RGB2C.html, which at £90 makes a 2nd cable look very attractive....

    Cheers, Clive

Try Comet. I got a Gamestar (Gemstar?) pack for £9.99. Scart RGB & optical output.

It includes a good quality optical cable too - bargain :)

Messiah - are you sure that cable has an s-video connector? Not just the s-video pins live in the SCART?

    Cheers, Clive

Hmm, that's odd. I can see why you ask looking at that pic. I pulled a spare XBox cable from my mass of wiring yesterday and it had a SCART, an s-video and red and white audio. I assumed it was the M$ Advanced SCART lead as I know I bought one of those. Let me go dig it out and see if it has any markings.

Apologies. The one I have certainly doesn't look like that image. Mine has the Xbox connector with included optical connector and the a SCART, S-Vid and r/l audio at the other end. maybe it is a gamester one. Let me dig around a bit see if I can find it somewhere. I know I boght it either from Dixons or Game.
