xbox hd drive on netbook

I know its possible to use as a dvd drive for installing o/s just wondered if it will work with the dell mini 10 on its way to me with windows 7 starter edition ??

Or should i say will it be recognised at boot up, is it a simple cmos setting?

i dont think so, as the Xbox uses IDE 2.5" hard drives, netbooks use 2.5" sata hard drives

its not ide, its sata in the xbox 360. Are you talking about the Harddrive or the HD disc player ?

Sorry its the hd disc player i am talking about, is it plug and play regarding using windows iso images??

If you're on about the xbox HD-DVD drive then I'm pretty sure you can. Someone I know wanted to get one because CEX were selling them cheap and they'd work out well as an external DVD drive for a netbook.

This definitely works, i used to use mine to install programs etc on my acer one.

Its just an external usb drive, xp and vista pick this up straight away
