Mate of mine is looking to get a 360 and was wondering about whether or not you can transfer the saved game data from his old xbox onto the 360 e.g. via a pc???

Soes anyone know if this is possible?

Is it even possible to access the 8gb HD on the xbox to backup the game saves???

    Cheers

There was talk of the possibility of connecting the 360 to the original xbox for this very purpose. At the moment, though this should be treated as out and out rumour and speculation.

Good question and I saw the answer to this one last night, unfortunately it's bad news:

Althoug they might now be saying that it can't be done, I wonder what happens if a max drive or similar device is used.

As for MMO games not needing a gold subscription, I would guess that is probably due to the fact that they will be charged monthly.

That's a good point, MS official line might be 'it can't be done',
but if Datel make an action replay device for transfering saves to/from PC maybe it can?

I see that Datel are already selling products for the PSP

I'm certainly going to backup my saves to my PC before selling my xbox
