I am considering buying a TV with Component inputs mainly for use as a games telly with my Xbox.

Is Component better than RGB ?.

Is Progressive scan that much better ???.

I have always found that the Xbox via RGB scart is a bit on the soft side, does component sharpen things up ???

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

It sharpens it a little with progresive but component without progressive is mostly the same as RGB. You'll need a US Xbox [or a chipped one] for progressive scan on Xbox.

Yes, component definitely sharpens it up, quite a bit m8.

    A well worthy purchase :)

What set have you got Spoonman2

I am considering the Panasonic 32PD30 which has Component and is Progressive scan combatible.

I play my xbox games on a 19" LCD and ComponentPS certainly makes a very good difference.

I know what your saying "how can u tell on a 19inch monitor"

because I play sitting in my Computer Chair at about 2feet away

I've got a toshiba 32ZD26P. I had a PAL XBOX and thought the RGB picture looked a bit blurry so bought a Microsoft HDTV pak from the states and was very disappointed as i thought it looked worse than RGB, so bought a US XBOX, using component leads with this produces an overbright image on 480i setting but select prog scan 480p setting and it looks awesome but your TV/Display needs to support prog scan to enable this option. So what I'm trying to say is if your TV doesn't support progressive scan you will not get a better picture than an RGB lead so don't waste your money on a high def pak.
