Sorry if this has been asked and answered a hundred times but I am unsure of which cables to connect my xbox to my amp to get the best picture and surround sound? Scart/RGB/comp/optical cable?? I have a uk xbox, not modded or chipped in any way. My head is spinning as I do not want to buy the wrong one, can I just pop into my local Game store and get what I need??

    Please help, thanks :)

Get the MS Advanced AV Pack with the Optical out on the little break out box, you will need to buy a optical cable mind.

I've got a Joytech AV pack which includes optical out, it only cost me £8.99 and sounds fabulous. Was looking for MS version but couldn't find one anywhere.

Can't compare with MS version but I have heard that the MS accessories are generally the best.

    Cheers,
    Mat

I use the MS official scart lead which has a box half way along the lead with a digital connection on it. Use a digital optical lead from the break out box to your amp and away you go. Picture via scart is fine, but I have a standard UK box so can't use the component leads on my 36" JVC tv.

This website sells them, not necessarily the cheapest but in the UK.

I saw them in a lot of places - I think it was MVC in Hounslow where I eventually bought mine - some places were overpriced others out of stick.

It has an optical out and comes with an optical cable - so only one connection to amp needed (to digital optical in).

I would get one of these if your happy with scart, if your not modding your box in anyway component is not really worth it. I used to use one and it was fine.
