I am going to get my son a 360 for christmas and want to hard wire a connection to my wireless router as I have access to free cable and connection boxes(and the wireless unit is £55 extra) + its easy to route. My router is set for encryption so will I be able to set the 360 to be able to connect?

The encryption only affects wireless connections.

You shouldnt have any problems - just need to setup the router to give the Xbox an IP address (DHCP)

should do unless its really really old. New routers are basically plug and go. With clicking next a few times in your broswer to set up some features

Why are you posting that link on random posts? It has nothing to do with what is being asked?
