Eidos/SCi announced today that Kane & Lynch, announced in July as an Xbox 360 and PC title, and Crossfire, announced in September as an Xbox 360 and PC title, are now both officially hitting two next-gen consoles

I wish they would lose the exclusive rights to Project Gotham racing 3. I love that game! It would be amazing on the ps3.

I suppose that I should just keep on dreaming :D

I wouldn't say 360 has lost them because it's still getting them and they were coming out on PC too anyway.

However, there does seem to be an increasing trend for cross platform releases. It seems like lately that loads of titles are going to be released on everything.

It's probably a sign of the increasing cost of developing games and the attempts of the developers to maximise revenue.

    Good news for PS3.

I don't think they ever said this, just they would wait for a larger install base and release their games in 2008.

Oh how i swore i would never get into another discussion concerning eidos after our last "friendly" little chat, :hiya: to all involved. Well i take it back so here goes... This comes less than a week after eidos announced they are going to be publishing ninja gaiden sigma on the ps3, really cant help but think there was more to the initial eidos announcement.

Both Kane And Lynch and The Crossing have been doing the rounds on the gaming sites and magazines so I'm surprised you haven't heard of them. They are both very promising games with The Crossing in particular with it's innovative gameplay aspect. Apparently it is supposed to seamlessly integrate both offline and online play. Basically you can be in an offline game and still be part of an online game. It's difficult to explain and sites like IGN probably have a better explanation.

Now you've said that about the crossing it seems to ring a bell, i'm pretty sure i read that the game will allow people playing on the 360 to play with people on pc's, wonder if the ps3 version will have any cross platform elements.

I don't think it's cross platform just an integration between offline and online on the same platform. FF XI was cross platform. Shadowrun which is coming out soon is cross platform online play between PC and 360.

The Crossing is a very ambitious title, the idea being you play a single player game but many of the characters in the game will be played by other people ie online. At least that's how I understand it. Whether it works remains to be seen but an interesting idea nonetheless.

With reference to Eidos' announcement of "no PS3 games before 2008", they were apparently referring to their financial year, so K&L at Christmas 2007 is, technically, a 2008 release for Eidos.

The real news here is a minor delay of the X360 version of K&L. How's that for spin? ;) Nice to finally have these games confirmed for PS3 though.

Just been reading another article over on ign.com where they say it was confirmed kane & lynch will be released simultaneously as the 360 and pc versions later this year, so either it will be a rushed port over from the 360 version, OR it's actually been in development all along, and if so then just what is eidos playing at? sorry but i'm a natural cynic and love a good conspiracy theory

What would the conspiracy be and why would Eidos be playing at anything? Are you referring to the previous announcement that Eidos wouldn't be releasing PS3 stuff untill 2008? What are the release dates for these games?
