Hey!

I have a couple questions.

1) Can I connect the Xbox 360 to my LCD with a HDMI to HDMI cabel?
2) Anyone play it in 720p? What's it look like?
3) What else can the X-box 360 do?
4) How does it connect to the internet?

thx!

these questions have all been answered many times before, if you read the thread that says something like 'read here before posting' you should find the answers.....or it might say 360 FAQ.....

1. Nope, you have to use Component or VGA, MS have not released a HDMI cable.

2. Looks fantastic in 720p.

3. Act as a media hub when used with MCE

4. It has built-in ethernet port, or you can use the wireless adapter (which you buy seperately).

Windows Media Center Edition, let's you watch films/tv from your MCE equipped PC on the 360.

Thx for the answers! What is MCE?

Again, all should be explained in the FAQ at the top of the page...

Ok thx!

Also, my LCD TV is HD ready. But I dont think it can show HD video over scart, at least that is the case with my Samsung DV950. To get HD i have to use a HDMI cabel with my DVD.
From what I gather the Xbox360 sends the HD 720p video through the scart?

EDIT: I am a noob! I admit it! :) :) :) :) hehe

You will only get 720p or 1080i from the component or VGA cables. You will get standard def through scart.

360 sends the signal over component. Scart can't handle a hi def signal.

if the LCD has a VGA input then you can use that for HD i think by buying a VGA cable for the 360...

I think I will buy the Xbox 360 full package, but from what I can see the console dosnet come with a free game!? Is this right or did I not read something? Also, do I need a hard drive (this is my first console sinice SEGA Genesis), should I just get the core version and get the stuff I need? Like the HD cabel, extra controler, WLAN adapter and a few games!? Also where can I see what games are to come out for the XBOX 360?

The console doesn't come with a free game. (well not 100% true, the Premium has a Live Arcade game preinstalled on the HD)

The 'Core' version comes with a wired controller and no HD, it's the premium that comes with a wireless controller, HD, component cables and a natty silver CD tray.

For games goto somewhere like IGN or Gamespot

Most of this is coverd in the FAQ though.

I spoke to a friend on xbox live yesterday who has a samsung hdtv. He said that he recieved a better picure via the component cables than with the 15 pin din (vga) cable. I use the component cables on my panasonic and i have no complaints at all.
there's no notable difference between 750 (?) or 1080 resolution.
