As title - is the x360 hd-dvd drive compatible with Windows XP?

I've seen pics of it being plug n play in Vista but no such confirmation for XP

In Xp you need to install udf 2.5 drivers (or run AnyDVD HD)
    In Vista you don't.

    nice, thanks.

should provide a nice cheap way of being dual format :smashin:

ooh just had a thought, it's too big to mount in a bay of a PC isn't it? worth a shot

Been there, tried that-proprietry brackets on the 360 drive that make it an ar$e to fit in a case.

I went for the Toshiba internal drive for my HTPC in the end-much easier. :smashin:

How much was the Toshiba though?
i've got screwless bays so I'll give it a go i think, it should clamp it in if it's the right dimensions

£120 from here, excellent service and quick delivery.

I had a good go (& I've got a fairly large case), but it just wouldn't fit. The problem is that there are brackets fitted to the actual drive that are almost impossibe to remove without butchering it.

I much prefer the internal drive as I don't like external devices, so I sold my 360 drive and used the cash to fund the Toshiba one. :smashin:

I though the xbox 360 drive was actually a Toshiba laptop drive unit and you could remove the drive from the case. I seem to remember seeing some photos on the web with it remvoe but can not find it at the moment?
