So this twerp sends pics on the net which could get his dad fired, just to brag he has a 360. What a div, its not as thou he actually got any new software to play on. I wonder if his dad spanked him good after this.

Totally agree, i mean if he had some test software even, that would actually make some interesting reading especially in game stuff.

He could at least have given us some info worthy of getting his dad sacked, some people have no bloody consideration.

You also have to ask what the hell he's doing playing it on a 14" portable!! .

I guess it's good news for us though as it shows that the machine is clearly almost ready for launch and that there shouldn't be any major delays.

What a complete do-nut though. You have a step dad working for MS (and with access to all the latest stuff) and you go and do this which will almost certainly get him fired! There's obviously precious little brain mass under that mop of hair!

Reckon hes faked the photos: -
    1. Power light is not on in any of the photos
2.The shot showing the Xbox 360 logo is obviously not the TV shown connected as the screen is a totally different size

I dunno about asking to play on his Dad's 360?! I'd be asking for a table, a nice sofa and a hedge strimmer to cut that mop off on his bonce.

I think its funny how he thought by showing off he'd be the cool dude but instead it shows what a prat he is. A lesson i hope he'll never forget.

He should have only taken pics of the machine. Not a head shot of himself.

Another thing i noticed, wasnt that room he was in awfully empty?

I mean it didnt look like a "home" but more of an empty room.

Nothing to sit on or anything.

    Dodgy!

So clearly a fake.. for so many obvious reasons.
The smallest TV you could get, a crap house etc etc.
Why not take decent photos of the 360 etc?
And mostly.. if your dad has been given the 360 to test or whatever.. how would you test it if you had no software ?
They send u a 360, then say play xbox games?
    As if

I don't think it's clearly a fake at all....he's got a 360 case (whether it's actually working or not) sat in that room, and the joypad in his hand. If those pics are doctored, they are flawless.

Whether he's actually playing Halo 2 from the 360 though, impossible to tell.

I'd put some money on that being a fake.

Not enough shown for it to be worthy of putting on the net IMO, plus no 360 software??

For me this is not a fake at all. We can't be sure that the Halo2 is running on the 360 or not, but if the actual image of the 360 and controller have been faked then it's the best fake that i've ever seen. All of the shadows are perfect and at the right tone etc. Reflections are spot on as well. The effect of the ambient light on the machine is flawless, as is it's relative location on both shots. Also where else has there been an image of the unit with leads attached for this to be faked from?

The machine testers will not test the machine using actual games - they will have either stress test software (similar to 3D mark etc.) to run and the unit will probably connect to a test laptop to record data. Even if I didn't have any 360 games i'd still try it out with the likes of Halo 2 or Forza, more to check out the controller and things like loading times more than anything. What I wouldn't do however is then post some pics of me doing just that on the net  .

This isnt fake. Its on a hell of a lot of news sites for it to be a fake. Apparently his dad tests the power safety on these things hence the wires. Think about it you think MS are going to risk giving some random safetly testing guy the software for it, not neccessary to test the PSU is it ?

And that console is meant to be production hardware as well; its not a prototype but an actual retail console.

Stuff like this is going to startt comming out. They have started making them now so more and more of them will come into circulation in the comming weeks. I`m just waiting to see one on ebay :)

Exactly, with 3 1/2 months left to it's expected WORLDWIDE release you can bet that there have been a lot of 360's already produced. It's of no surprise to me at all to see these photo's and I can't understand why someone would say that they are fake  .

We all know what the console looks like and in just a few months many of us will own one. My point is that there would be very little point in faking these shots as they are hardly sensational in my eyes. I'd say that MS will need around 1 million consoles ready for a worldwide release, especially with a before Christmas launch date. They are forcasting sales figures of 10 million in year one and i'd say that they could easily achieve a 1/10th of this figure in the first couple of weeks of launch. 1 Million consoles is a lot to get ready in 3 1/2 months so you can bet that production is well under way (probably about half way there).

The production estimates I saw were between 1.6 and 2.4 million units produced by December this year. It will probably be at the lower end of that scale but still a lot of consoles to be built in a very short space of time.

Ah well my 1 M guess wasn't far off then. That sounds about right and it's a lot of 360's to produce!

I just hope they can make enough of them. I checked on the pre order situation when I was in NY a week or so ago and a small out of town gamestop had over 200 pre orders (paid for).

The guy I spoke to reckoned they were going to have to stop taking them shortly as they had ben told how many consoles they would be getting before Christmas and they were virtually at that level already.

I read some of the comments on the second thread and everyones questioning this and that, fake this and that, no bloody power light, shag pile carpet not crushed under weight of box etc etc. Get a grip people, this is the real world, should he really be sitting in a DFS showroom, suited and booted with the latest HD plasma, playing a finished (ie no testing wires hanging out the top!) XBOX 360????
Its like a UFO siting conspiracy!
