Hi, I have a Yamaha RX-V361 and speaker package (AVS301 I think) with my Xbox 360. I have the HD cable coming from the Xbox and the audio coming to the amp through optical in.

The amp says Dolby Digital but I'm confused about which sound settings I should be running on the amp. If I am in default mode there seems to be very little sound through the central speaker, which doesn't sound right, especially on Guitar Hero 3. Which mode should I use?

    Cheers

Is it like that with all sources i.e. DVD player, TV and so on? Did you run a speaker test etc. when you setup the amp? I would run it again and if necessary turn the centre speaker up slightly. I have no idea about which mode to use as dolby digital is what is output and is what I use for gaming.

Hi - I know the centre speaker is working because it sounds when using Sky and also a bit on Bioshock, but it is very quiet on GH3 and when using the Xbox generally eg navigating around the Blades.

Will try the speaker test again.
