Right, I hopefully have BO3 arriving today and have decided its time to go Live.

However, despite searching I can't work out what I need to do the following:

Connect the XB so that it works without the pc being on.

Now I understand I need a router of some sort but I don't know what type, or what else I need (cables etc). The other problem is the pc is upstairs and the XB downstairs so I would need a very long cable but again not sure what type/connections it needs?

I know all this has been covered a million times but I can't make head nor tails of all the info (doesn't help I have been at work since 5am) so if someone can just say, buy this this and this, I would be ver grateful. Oh and I don't mind getting cheap stuff so long as it works!

Thanks in advance :)

Right you need a router if on cable if on a ADSL connection you will need a modem router as for the distance prob the best way would be to go wireless but this will cost around £100 - £150 for both the wire less modem/router and the receving device
depending on what you buy most people I know will tell you to steer clear of the Belkin items as these have problems with talking to people on live

heres a few links for you to have a look at to get an idea
