With the continual news of nearly every AAA multiplat looking better on PS4 I think they'll have to do a bit more than lower the price by 30 pounds and include a game.

I am glad I chose PS4 this time, but the majorit of consoles are sold to people who have no idea about a game being higher res on one machine than another. The price is very important. It will make a difference.

Not to me because I am a Lord. But it will to the peasants and the greta unwhashed.

MS must be a bit worried, only 3 months after release isn't it?
They tried adding FIFA/Forza for launch and are being comfortably outsold, now its Titanfall plus £30 off, I can't see this working too much as Titanfall isn't exclusive, its out on the 360 and on PC.

It will be interesting to see if it makes a difference. I wouldn't mind getting an xbox one but the other half would likely kill me and it's probably still a bit expensive for me. I would only want it for Forza at the moment as it looks great and my days on FPS shooters are pretty much killed from COD

I can't play CoD anymore either but I played the TF beta and it was REALLY fun. Would just "barely" be a system seller for me if I didn't already have one (now that I've played the Beta and can confirm how fun it is)... but I bought in originally for the entire package and TF appears to be the icing on the "entertainment device" cake.

That's not to say that every ex-CoD player will enjoy it though, but I think it does cater really well for the competitive (and casual) FPS player.

It's basically a halo cod hybrid in my mind. Not to say it isn't fun, but just like in halo I could really do without the idiots jumping around non stop.

Get rid of the kinect requirement, Release a standalone unit and lower the price another £50.

My ps4 and 360 are serving me well at the mo.

But .... but ...... but ...... Titanfall was going to be a system seller, why would they need to cut the price of the console AND give the game away free?

But that by definition would make it a system seller*, instead of being stand alone it is being bundled with the system (and is still costing as good as £50 anyway)

*Assuming it does sell more (which it probably will to some extent)

All good news for the consumer. Nice little price cut for those thinking about it and a good bundle with TF included :)

I think it may tip a few people over the edge to get one. Titanfall is one of their main 'exclusives' and this bundle effectively saves £70-75 quid for those who were considering buying an XB1 to play it.

Regardless of what you many think of the console or the game, it's a good deal for those who are interested in it.

I've been thinking about ordering an Xbox One for a couple of weeks so this is potentially good news. I think it might well sway quite a few people that are still on the fence about buying.

Similarly not fussed, just observing that very early in life price cut combined with giveaway of supposed system selling title is ........ notable.

If they ever release a slim version I'd consider another. As it stands I have no room in my TV rack to accommodate one now as I have a Wii U, PS4, SFF pc and ps3 in there now :)

The main notable thing I've come to loathe is the perception this game is the end all of gaming. You see comments like "this is the most anticipated title of this generation" etc etc. Really? This generation is a whopping 3 months old. Systems seller? The console is still in launch mode.

It's a game. Exciting. Fun. New. But just a game. I'll have it on launch but only because xbox equally is lacking a game library.

Agree, although I got slated for expressing the view that although this was a really good looking game it might just be a teency weency bit overhyped.

I'm far more looking forward to Evolve in terms of online shooters. That genuinely does appeal. Love the whole hunters vs monster concept.

It is a good shooter from what i've played of the beta, just not "the most anticipated title of this generation"

Slated by whom? We had a good discussion recently on this, I don't think you were being slated for your views. By your own admission you were playing devil's advocate, and you got challenged on some things you said, not slated for saying them.

Creating a bundle for this game is a no-brainer for MS, and with the price drop makes the console extremely competitive. I think referring to it as panic is a tad strong though, I'd sooner call it a smart business decision, given their position.

Wow. That's effectively a £60 price cut 3 months after launch.

    That's pretty bad!

I think the game itself is really good. It won't cater to everyone's FPS needs but it's solid. The only problem I see with it and it being a system seller is it's available on 2 other platforms. Granted MS owns those as well, but at the risk of game sales, they should have really only made it available on XB1 so it would have been a true system seller.

I think EA probably demanded it though. In case sales weren't up to snuff due to exclusivity of it (because they care about their bottom line, not MS's).

It is the title that will make me load up my XB1 more than my PS4 though!

Yeah the hype for that on XBOX forums is mad. I think outside of the xbox community it's just a new game like cod but with space jumping like Halo.

Wonder will MS get as much grief as Nintendo did when they dropped the price of the 3DS I think it was. People up in arms.

I'm already reading on the xbox side of the forum that no way is this due to sales (£30 off and a free new release) but "clearly" because of the strength of the dollar!!

MS need to hire some of these people to do their press.

    Nintendo need some too!

Course it's due to poor(er) sales, you would have to be from another planet to think it's not.
The naysayers are the ones who are trying hard to justify their purchases...same went for consoles with price cuts that have gone before.
Then you also have the Japan launch, so this "annoucement", may take some of the attention from that.

Still, would it make me drop £400 bones on one...for me, it's not a system seller, and if you have a half decent pc, it will no doubt look and play better(kb/m), and cost less on the likes of Steam, to buy.

3 months after launch and a price drop already plus free game and you think they are not panicking, Bundles are one thing this is another, When they are being out sold by Sony at 2-1 in the U.S alone, not to mention Europe and now there's Japan's launch you cant say Microsoft are not feeling it, If they were confident in the Xbox-one they wouldn't need to resort to this at all, clearly they are not.
