I assume the version of X Men 1 included is the standard one, not 1.5?

I was quite tempted to buy 1.5 even though I already have the original release, but if it's available for £1 extra with X2 then it would be rude not to!

Or is the X2 box set, which I currently have on pre-order, the best bet?

I am keen on DTS and all the above refer to R2.

    Too many choices!!

There are two x-men box sets, a 2 disc version and a four disc version, the four disc version includes x-men 1.5 as opposed to x-men 1, where as the 2 disc version is only x-men 1 not 1.5

Only the four-disk boxset on R1 though.

Garrett - I finally put my single-disk X-Men R2 up for sale on eBay ;)

Yes,we know that 'cause Garrett posted the links :D

I think you misunderstood my post - I meant that there is no 2-disk boxset on R1, only a 4-disk boxset :)

I just received X-Men 2 this morning from cdjapan and,
although i've only sampled bits of the film, I must admit
that the picture and sound quality is awesome!
This is only a single disc edition though, but it has English
dts and dolby digital soundtracks and there are no burnt in
subtitles (but you have to switch the japanese subtitles off
first as they appear by default).
Something to lookforward to watching on the weekend!

Anybody know if there is a X-Men 2.5 down the line? Although I cannot see it as there is a set of 2 discs in the latest package and DTS.

How much did you pay for X-MEN 2 bowenjones? What's the shipping time like from CDJapan and what about customs?
Am really jealous that you've got it already!!!

I paid about £25 (though I won't know the actual cost untill
my credit card bill arrives) and I ordered it last Monday - it was
only released on Friday so 4 days after the release date isn't
    bad.
I wasn't clobbered with customs but I did have to sign for it.
The cost on the parcel was 3300 yen - the price of the disc
without the added shipping costs - so, according to xe.com,
that converts to £17.90 which is just under the customs
    limit.

    So seeing as I already have X Men1 , I can't really justify the £30 1.5/2 boxset over just the X men2 boxset, unless there's something unmissable on 1.5?

Would someone who has both 1 and 1.5 care to enlighten me?

Good lord - are Play charging £30 for it???

It's only £18 for the Region 1 4-disk set at DVDSoon!!

X-Men 1.5 has a few more extras, but most people upgraded for the DTS soundtrack. I am upgrading simply because it doesn't cost much more than buying X-Men 2 on it's own and I can get some money back from selling my Region 2 which should cover that - so I couldn't find any reason not to get it.
