Do we have a date yet? Its always the sign that summer is ending when X Factor starts.

Well it started on 20th August for 2011, 21st August 2010, 22nd August 2009 etc etc...

So it could be the 18th (a week after the Olympics) or the week after (25th).

God I hope its better than last year !
Do you know, if it hadn't mentioned "little mix" above, i would not have remembered who won.
    I can't think now who came 2nd & 3rd ... it was that good.
I will still end up watching it, as its easy going viewing, but the acts and judges (especially Tullisa and now Hamilton's missus this year - freshly booted from usa x factor) need to raise their game this year, if they are to get better ratings and keep viewers interested.

I really wish they would kill this show off. I used to love the X-Factor but over the last few years this show has really gone down the pan. I know Mrs Razor will want to watch it so I cant even avoid it this year. :(

My only hope is that there will be some decent talent, no sob stories, no stupid auditions and no comedy acts. I think I have more chance of getting a whale up my arse but there we go.

Mel B seemed way off the mark. Full of her own self importance, still dining out on being scary spice, and getting preggars by eddie....

The Asda worker was good. Glad the 'geek' could hold a tune or that would of be a proper car crash...

I thought Mel was spot on. Although she was probably scripted to be scary/nasty.

Mel was quite honest, all the folks she rejected weren't worthy of being put up for the next round neither did the other judges. Some folks really need to be put in their places imo as their way too confident or cocky.

What about the old fella? No need to so blunt, he's old enough to know the score.

I wonder of the production team suggested she sing Pink, made more of a story. Thats why she said 'they' asked her to sing Pink? After all who put the backing track into the tape deck....?

You can't beat the x factor system. She then turned out to be a crap Pink tribute act anyway!

That's a bit harsh. Out of interest, which one of the show-offs? ;-)

I wouldnt be suprised if she was asked (by the producers) to sing a Pink song. It is all about maknig good TV afterall, if SC makes money from selling records afterwards then that is just a bonus (but not one that ITV will care too much about).

If the truth ever came out it could well be an argument over the difference between being told and suggesting why don't you. The judges, sorry panel, seemed quick enough to offer her another chance. That used to be unusual. I was expecting the guy at the start of the show to sing in a sweet voice after a drink of water. That seemed scripted.

The girl from Newcastle, singing Jennifer Hudson, wow, that was quality.

Rest of the show - meh.

Edit: Forgot about the girl who sang her own song. She was very good.

I wasn't that impressed by the guy at the end. Bette than most but not really my cup of tea. The Mississippi is complaining there ar giving featured acts too much airtime thi year. Pointed out that in previous years she complained she didn't hear enough singing in audition shows.

I thought Melanie Masson was going to be a fairy Kate Bush type. She knocked it out of the park.

Joseph Whelan - good voice, and his got a little boy! Yeah, and? Weak back story so lets bring out the kids....

I think the show's lost a huge amount of credibility as an "open" audition show when almost all the people you see auditioning are shown in their kitchen's, having breakfast, on the bus/train on the way to the auditions! Clearly these people are somehow known to the producers an their minions in advance.

Melanie Masson has or did work as a session singer for 15 years for several well known bands/artists, so she was obviously known to someone.
