I have recently got myself a Pioneer 434HDE plasma set and have connected my 868 via HDMI and my xbox via RGB scart to inputs 1 and 3 respectively.

The query or niggle I have is that I'd like to connect my xbox via the component inputs for HD but these inputs are also on the input 1. Has anyone out there got there system connected like this? And would there be any risk involved with doing it like this? I know having to signals going into the same input isn't the best idea but so long as I turn one of before putting the other on is there any other significant risks?

Still a bit of a noob I'm afraid..........

Your situation is quite usual, and not a problem. You just have to switch between YUV and HDMI in the setup menu. Confuses the hell out of females in the house, I find, though there is a passably effective macro for philips pronto to do the job.
