    Hi guys,
I was wondering of anyone could answer a question I have regarding connecting and X-Box 360 into an Onkyo 505E via the component connection.
The problem I have is that my LCD screen in now mounted on the wall and the standard X-Box lead is not long enough to reach to directly connect to component leads into the screen. I was wondering if I could connect the standard X-Box lead into my Onkyo 505E, then using a standard 3 Meter Component lead connect from the Amp to my Samsung LCD screen. I also output the sound from the X-Box into the Onkyo via an optical connection would, this still work ok if the video signal was being passed through the amp at the same time.
    Hope someone can help
    James.

Sounds feasible as long as you can assign the optical to the chosen composite in.

Thanks for that, I would usually just connect the X-Box directly to the screen but the cost of a 3 meter X-Box lead is in the region of £35 - £45, which is considerably more than a standard Component lead the same length.

Incidentally I am maxed out on HDMI so if I buy a Blu-Ray player my 360 seems the logical candidate for changing to Composite. I am hoping the difference is almost indiscernible.:hiya:

The quality of the X-Box through the composite is great your won't be disappointed if you have to go that way.
