Started with RTCW now on MOHAA.

MOHAA is bizarre because you have to consider others. But it seems to have a narrow plot (ie the compass and objectives tells you whats next and there is little choice).

RTCW seems to be simply shoot everyone but at least you have to search and find secrets and figure out whats next.

I prefer RTCW which I completed but its early days yet on MOHAA. About to get 1942.

    What do other people think?

Both excellent games and enjoyed them both. I'm also looking to get 1942. Heard some good things about it.

Also waiting for Vietcong. The graphics look stunning:)

Jag, did you not find that the nature of RTCW encouraged you to explore the environment (eg looking for secrets, finding medikits, solving the watch tower problem, getting down the mountain on the cablecar etc) but mohaa is less so.

I have just completed the first mission but didnt waste anytime exploring. Is it worth going back and looking round ar is it very much, simply complete your objective and move on?

There isn't much need to explore I agree but the gameplay itself is fantastic. RTCW certainly doesn't engulf you in as much as MOHAA IMO.

dont you think tho that they could give you more choice. Like the bit where you strife the stukas. It wouldbe better to give you a choice on how you complete the objective like being allowed to take out the enemy by stealth rather than driving through on a jeep. I just felt like i was on a conveyor belt through the game. Especially when you die and repeat a segment and the enemy/allies dont differ in their actions so that the next time you load up you can beat them by knowing what they will do

the vietcong demo is superb - only multiplay on one map but it does make your hearbeat got somewhat faster when you are running through the jungle and dont know where your bieng shot from
It also boasts things like booby traps for that unsuspected fall on sharp bamboo sticks - and plenty of Vietcong tunnels to explore !. Im looking forward to this coming out.

dont give up on RTCW yet - Ive heard there is an offical addon pack with more levels in single player so that should be good.

BF1942 - well it does boast full interaction with all Vehicles (flying a P57 hellcat is very amusing) but you do need a stonking vid card to get anything out of it - Its runs and looks like a dog on my GF2 64mb Ultra..

I enjoyed MOHAA - is the addonpack any good for that ?.

Im now up to the french resistance and feel like i have been on a conveyor belt. the play is so narrow I simply feel I am reading lines off a script. Didnt get that feeling with RTCW. Graphics fantastic and loved the beach assault biut thats the only bit so far that grabbed me!!!

Is Battlefield 1942 more of the same/worse or better?
