From what someone has been posting on another forum you will be very very lucky to find a PSP with no dead or stuck pixels as they are in the US and have so far bought and returned 7 PSPs as they have all had bad pixels ranging from 2 to 7 and with Sony saying that dead pixels are normal for LCD screens I dont see them changing their quality control to try and get the number of units with bad pixels down but I wish you good luck in finding one, mine has a single dead pixel but I am going to have to return mine to Movietyme as the disc tray and right shoulder button are defective

I will soon have my other PSP up for sale. It is the US value pack, and comes with 7 games:

    Ridge Racer
    Twisted Metal
    Untold Legends
    Dynasty Warriors
    Spiderman 2
    Lumines
    Metal Gear Acid.

Would want a little more than £350 though as it cost me a little more than that!

Indiana....that sounds a bit of a nightmare for you...especially after getting rid of your Jap PSP. In fact although I'm on the verge of parting with my cash for a PSP (Jap), there seems to be so many problems at the moment I think I'll have to forget about the whole thing. Sony have cocked this up I reckon. Might have to wait (Zzzzzz) for the UK release. At least if the unit is buggered I can take it back to the shop or make use of the warranty (which will actually be valid).

All the best getting it sorted.

Hopefully Movietyme will get back to me soon and sort my problems out, all the faults are covered under the Warrenty and considering they have an office in the US there shouldnt be any reason why they cant get it repaired/replaced and give me a new one but at the moment they havent even replyed to my emails/posts which makes me think they are ignoring me.

That's my biggest fear. Something goes wrong and the vendor washes their hands of it. Happy to take your cash, but not offer any kind of service. I'm sure movietyme will get back to you. If they don't make sure you post on here so that people know what to expect if their unit develops a fault.

As I say I've been really put off by all the problems that people have encountered. Of course I want a psp, but i don't need all the worry that goes with it (dead pixels, have I got any, will they form, do the buttons last, no warranty).

    Buy one from GBAX.com then.

Cost a little more (prices on the site are ex VAT), but they offer excellent service and are very helpful.

You get what you pay for I guess!

Well Movietyme have got back to me, seems they dont work over the weekend so thats why I havent recieved an answer until today.
They have said to send the PSP back to them via Special Delievery (I assume this will be refunded) and that they will send me a replacement when they are back instock but they dont know when this will be so in the meantime I will have a stack of PSP games with nothing to play them on :(

I would be very surprised if they refund your postage, if you lived down the road would you expect them to pay for your cab ride back to them?

Hopefully they will get new stock soon, I would be gutted having a load of games there and nothing to play them on. :(

Sadly you were correct and the Special Delievery charge would be non refundable so I am seriously thinking about just keeping it even with the faults, if I returned it I would have to pay probaley £8 and then I may have to wait weeks to get a replacement which will most likely not have the Spiderman 2 UMD and Sample Disc.

Just say to them that you will return it when they get new stock in or you want a full refund, and make it clear you don't mind which. You are within your rights to have a refund and you could get a unit from somewhere else now, or maybe far cheaper by the time they get new stock.

Someone on NTSC-UK bought a PSP for £500 odd, it was faulty, and by the time it got back to Hong Kong and replaced they were less than half the price he paid.

I have a feeling that until I return the PSP they wont hold any stock for my replacement so the sooner its returned the eariler I will get a replacement but having to pay for it to go back which I thought was wrong considering I picked it up in person saving Movietyme the postage cost in the first place and not knowing whether I will get a replacement with the Spiderman 2 UMD and Sample Disc is making me think twice about returning it, might just sell it off cheap and buy one from elsewhere.

Just send it back and get a full refund. If it costs you £8 I am sure you would loose a lot less than that by selling it used, and knackered.

After looking around the net I doubt I could get another one for anywhere near the price I paid so I might as well keep it, it works fine and I suppose I could get used to pressing the shoulder button in away so it doesnt stick, its just I really wanted a faultless model :(
