I have an iPod video, but bought a cheap mp3 player for the gym.

I used windows media to rip an album and sync it onto the device. Today I was trying to delete the songs i had, and stick a new album on.

I couldnt delete any of the songs. I just got a message saying the files were write protected.

I tried to then put the new songs on the album - and worry about deleting the first album later. but it wouldnt let me put the songs on.

    "This media is write protected".

Have i just wasted money on this mp3 player? Has something went wrong meaning im stuck with the one album on it?

I've went through the options on windows player and the tab to copy write the songs is unchecked.

    Not sure what to do..

    anyone help?
