Just taken delivery of my Plasma Panny TH-42PW6 XB, also bought a SVHS terminal board, but also have scart ... have wall mounted this morning, and the lounge looks the biz, its above my fireplace, and luckily I have only about 3cm of cabling showing and yet my Sky+, Pioneer DVD player, Panasonc ER20 DVD recorder, and xbox are all hooked up via a Joytech silver AV unit... its looks the biz, and screen picture quality is amazing .. love it ...

Here are a few pics of my set-up

Looks fab mate ! But why do you have two TV's - surely with the Plasma in place is time to get shot of the CRT ?

UR right the pICs on my PW6 I received on Friday are simply stunning and at the moment I am running contrast at -6 and brightness at -3.

So there is even more to come once the 200 hours are in.

Nice pics mate. What settings are you running ?

it sure is a great screen.... I got mine about 10 days back and really havent used it due to video processor not arriving yet but have watched a couple of dvds through my laptop..... Ive been through a number of projectors (even to relatively high end) and crt tubes and have to say the plasma blows me away in comparison. 2 months ago I wouldnt have looked twice at plasma, now I have to admit that I find it hard to consider anything else

Screen is currently connected to my Joytech AV unit, via a SVHS lead, I have a quality scart still boxed, and may consider using this for the Plasma, and the SVHS for my Projector, just under the Plasma.

My screen has one dead Pixel, in the bottom right - its red, and seeing that I just had Plasma on this Saturday, the store (Local) Panasonic shop is swapping out this Tuesday for another brand new unit .. other than the dead pixel the unit is spoton .. I still use my projector every now and again, as I cant afford a 10ft Plasma yet (heheheh) , pics are nice, best place was to mount above fireplace ... cables are nearly not visible - well al but 3cm , but can live with that ..

That's the sort of reassurance I need.
My RPTV died on me and upto now I have been 100% sure I would replace it with a Plasma panel but now I have to actually think about my bank account rupturing I'm not so sure even though I know the benefits:)
A bit later in the year then cash flow wise it would have been an easier decision but on the other hand I can't imagine TV viewing with only a 28" CRT telly !

    Hi,

Ive just received my PW6B, and was just wondering what the best settings are for the picture, i.e. Contrast etc.?

Just wondering what problems people have had with these, if any?

    PW6B, Denon 2900, Sony 940, Nad C370, Mission M74s, M77DS and M77C.

I think your aspect ratio is ok on the screen - your sky plus though is set to 4:3 as its fine on your old set. Change it to 16:9 in the settings.
