Watched the first 2 episodes of season 2 today (eps 21 and 22) on Toonami.
    Fantastic, stylised yet detailed animation.
Why do I feel the acting and directing is better in these series than in the "live action" prequels?

Agreed. Clone Wars just gets better and better!

There are so many interesting things in these that are fun to see. I particularly like all the ships which are obviously some way between the "prequels" and the "originals". Did you see the space transport that was probably pilfered by the Jawas to live in once they'd added tracks to it? :)

1800 on Toonami (if only it were still CNX  ).

The first ones were excellent too, I can't wait for the DVD's! For those who have surround sound it's very impressive in Pro Logic 2. :)

I think it will definitely help understand what has happened to the characters in between Eps 2 & 3, although I expect only a tiny fraction of the audiences will have seen all 30 episodes of Clone Wars by the time ROTS opens.

I'm amazed none of the terrestrial channels have picked this up as it is one of the best animations of recent years and an "official" part of the Star Wars saga.

Is the 2nd series going to be released on dvd before ROTS comes out?

BTW the 2nd series is currently being shown at 8am, 4pm and 8pm on Toonami.

I don't think General Grievous is going to be anything like as cool, creepy and dangerous in the new film as he is in the series. :(

The current series (actually series 3 but described as Volume 2) are each 12 minutes long whilst the previous 2 series are collected in the DVD you link to (described as Volume 1) and are only 3 minutes long each. I think there's 10 episodes in each of the first 2 series and 5 in the current 3rd one.

I'm hoping to buy that collection in the next few weeks. From what I've seen of the new series it's not as good as the older ones but the problem is that there's only so much that can be done within 3 minutes! Most of them are very good with an even more intense feel to them, particularly the fight with General Grievous in Episode 20 which is probably worth £8.99 on it's own! Actually, I think episode 20 was 5 minutes long rather than 3. There's quite a few reviews on the net of them, just google for it and see what you think. :)

No probs, I'm enjoying this Clone Wars series far more than any of the theatrical prequels. :)

The first 20 Chapters were pretty good and even though they were only a few mins long, alot of the episodes continued the same story in the next Chapter but it was hard to sit through 'Last Time on Clone Wars' title for every episode, glad they have changed it for the DVD release as its much easier to watch.

As for the new Chapters, I have only seen the first 3 but they are very promising and it looks like Chapter 25 is going to end right where ROTS starts.

What's with the scheduling on Toonami?

They only seem to be showing the same three episodes over and over again, each time proclaiming them brand new episodes!

When are Chapters 24 and 25 to be shown?

How are they going to release just 5 episodes on dvd?
Or are they going to feature on the ROTS dvd?

Volumes 24 and 25 have already been shown but I dont know when they will be repeated.

Also, the original 20 Clone Wars Chapters were only 3 mins each and all of them put together gave us an hour long cartoon but because Volume 2 of Clone Wars consisted of five 13min Chapters, Volume 2 will give a cartoon of the same length so if the original hour long cartoon was worthy of being released on DVD there is no reason Volume 2 wont also be released.

Just seen episode 25 (so all of the new series) and it definitely sets things up well for the film.

I can say for certain that I've enjoyed all 3 series of Clone Wars far more than I enjoyed the 2 prequels and undoubtedly the 3rd. I would even go as far as to say that in terms of suspense and action it surpasses the original features too! :)

Yeah I just caught the last episode as well.
    Absolutely superb!

General Grievous should make an excellent henchman in ROTS...

It does strike me that they wasted a lot of exposition time in the two prequels and have left themselves a lot/too much to do in Episode 3.

Let's hope it's even better than TPM and AOTC. (I still liked them and thought AOTC was the second best film of the series so far, after TESB)

As it turns out, I think I enjoyed ROTS about as much as this series although Grievous was far more terrifying in Clone Wars.

Does anyone have any idea when Volume 2 is due out? It seems like a missed opportunity to me since it's so closely linked to the start of the film. :)
