    I'm thinking of getting a Guild or team together for the brilliant World of Warcraft online game so if you would like to join in the fun this is the place to set your hearthstone. :D I have set a poll just to see which side of 'the force' members favour.

    :blush: sorry about the hicup in the title of the poll, don't know what I was thinking there. Mods can you change that. :blush:

    How's this going to work though, I've already invested quite some time in this, if we're going to put a guild together then we'll all have to be on the same realm and would that mean starting again from scratch?

    Cheers,
    Andy.

    Yep, unless we happen join your side and your server :) ( not an offer ). My idea was setup from scratch and have set playing times as a group. You will still have your characters that you have invested time in for solo playing if you want to. It's not going to be possible to use old characters in the mob but I thought if we started early not to many high level characters would be put to the sword. :rolleyes: Anyway if you have been playing for a while it's a lot quicker to level up again because you have been there, done that and got the armour... :D

    Just placed an order for this game & would be up for joining a guild. Should have it within the next couple of days. I've played quite a few MMORPG's before (EQ, DAoC, AO, Planetside, Earth & Beyond) so this shouldn't take me long to pick up - it's supposed to be aimed at MMORPG noobs anyway from what i've read :thumbsup: . Anyway I've always said that "playing a MMORPG is very much like making love to a beautiful woman"...I could go on about getting your sword out but i'll leave it there :D

    Not bothered which side we go - quite happy to play either. I've also got another mate who's bought it today so he may be up for it as well.

    From what i've over the last few threads on WOW i really want it. My problem is i've signed up for 4 months to COH which i'm really enjoying just now.

    Anyone currently playing both games and feel you can spread your time between the 2 and still enjoy them both , as well as the extra expence.?

    I may well get fed up with COH before my 4 months sub is up but in the meantime just admire the WOW box every time im in my local Game store :(

    Generally I find you can't with this type of game. It's not so much the expense as the time. You also tend to get into your char and swapping chars & games IMO spoils this. You will always enjoy one more than the other and end up playing that one all the time whilst neglecting the other.

    GP - I can, I just play them on alternate days - or somedays you feel more like one than the other. Did the Positron task force last night with 5 of us...7 hours and 1 level later, it was done. Phew !

    I suppose i could buy the game , try it for a month in conjunction with COH and see where my preference lies.

    I am assuming you get the 1st month free on WOW and then , what £9 a month thereafter? I know it's a bit early yet but if i play a month and then leave for 2 or 3 months can a subscriber can back on line again with his char still intact?
    If so i may go for that option and dual play both for a while.

    Cheers.

    Sorry should have added if i do buy the game i'm up for what the majority would go for as far as servers etc.
    Does WOW allow you to create multiple characters to play on different servers ala City of Heroes for which i stupidly have 4 chars in developement at the same time just now?

    Yes it allows this. You can even have multiple characters on the same server. On Player vs Player servers however, you have to pick a side (alliance or horde), but can have more than 1 character of any of the races that that side has.

    HTH

    For the original poster: I assume you're thinking of PvP? I'm currently playing an alliance dude, but would be willing to try the other side!

    As to whether to go PvP or PvE that's up for mulling over. I myself prefer PvE because on PvP you will get thel half-wit level 15 picking on level 5 wich is a bore mid quest and seeing as you can switch on PVP in the PvE server, PvE just gives you more control and seeing as we will all be just starting i thought it would make for a smother start. (discuss).

    PvP = player v player
    PvE = player v enviroment.

    :)

    Right then, I have setup a new alliance character in the Zenedar rhelm (PvP). He's a Dwarf rouge by the name of Grimshaw. If you want to join the adventure then get logged on and set up a character. We should spread out the types of characters a bit as it does make for a more enjoyable experience ( tanks,healers,magic etc.). I will look into setting a meeting point a little later when I've explored the map a little and leveled up a couple of steps and those who are looking to join in have done the same, probably for next weekend.

    Remember guys I'm not 'incharge' here just helping to move this along so if you have have/want any input then post and don't forget to let us know who you have created. :thumbsup:

    I found that only HMV had it in stock where I live (York). They wanted a ridiculous £34.99 for it so obviously I didn't bother. I've ordered from Simply Games for £23.99 so when that arrives i'll join up. :thumbsup:

    Excellent! You've selected the realm I've picked! I'm currently a Night Elf Warrior Lvl 12. Playing with my mate, at his house (got a router). He's a lvl 12 priest.

    It'll take a while to get the guild together, it's not exactly cheap to do this within the game. It costs 10 silver for a guild charter, that you get signed by 11 separate people. Then you have to register that once thats done..... My mate seems to think that costs 10 gold, but I don't know if that's correct.

    I'll have a look for you online. I'm Kellanved and my mate's Raest.

    Are you prepared for how much time this game is going to suck out of your life?

    See you around!

    Well at least we have a team. :D Managed to get my Dwarf up to lvl 7 and will give him another push today just so I can explore the map a little without getting eaten by something nasty. When I've done this I'll set a meeting point in one of the towns and we can arrange to meet up.

    :D :rotfl:

    I've been on this a bit today & just off for a sesh now. I've got my Dwarf (Rogue) to level 8 so far with not too much trouble.

    Good fun game, although there's little that's new in it. It's probably the best example of the genre i've played though.
