I've asked on a few other sites but everyone is anti-AMD. Any replies are greatly appreciated [:)]

I'm definitely going to be Skyrim. I'd love to be able to play BF3 on medium/high settings if possible.

The specs are:

CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 640 AM3 (4x3.00GHz)
Operating System: Microsoft® Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Motherboard: Gigabyte M5A78L-M/USB3
Memory: 8GB DDR3 1333mhz (2x 4GB)
Hard Drives: 500GB S-ATAII 3.0Gb/s
Optical Drive: 22x DVD±RW DL S-ATA
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB
Sound card: Onboard 7.1 Audio
Case: Zalman Z9 Plus
PSU: 500W Xigmatek

Even though it's AMD :D that looks a good spec. The graphics card is ok and would definitely do what you want. If I had the choice the minimum graphics card in a new PC would be a 560ti, but it looks fine.

Not sure, can't find that motherboard after a quick search, but brand new and built, tested etc, I would say £400ish.

It's £475 with £25 delivery, already built and tested. I'm starting to think about building it myself to save some cash and gain some confidence in this area. The most I've done is upgraded the RAM in my current computer and found that extremely easy although I do mod and repair xbox's and ps3's. How do you think I'd get on with it? I know what parts I need and i'd probably just follow some guides as I went along. My two concerns are installing the OS and applying thermal paste. With the i3 processor, does the cooler come preinstalled with thermal paste? Thanks again.

It does if you buy the retail version with HSF.

I don't think it's worth £500, an i3 system would be better and the 550ti graphics card is not that good considering the cost. You could build a much more powerful system yourself so I say go for it!

I totally agree with you now after spending some time today looking around, I'm on my iPhone at the moment but when i get home I'll type up the specs. It's £520 total and has an i3 processor and gtx 560 ti graphics card. The psu is 650w (I think ). Other than that it's basically the same other than the case.

Agree here. For £500 and as you mentioned self build, you can do a lot better. Perhaps even squeeze an awesome i5 if you push the budget a tiny bit.

Okay so i've been looking all day any finally came up with this set-up. It's £70 over my budget so i think i might have to spend less on the graphics card.
If you find anything here for less somewhere else please could you tell me :smashin:
