Hello, I am again in an unpgraditis stage... A BIG one I am almost set for a SVS SB12-plus (just need to be sure it will be more than enough for a 24 m2 room), and I want to upgrade my dvd player, too (the headphone amp story is another story... a long one, too). I have currently a Denon DVD1400, which I bought new for 200 euro, and is excellent for that money. Unfortunately, the 2 MB buffer is not enough, and I want to get rid of the pause when changing layer. A HDMI output would be desirable too, although the blue jeans component cables already improved the picture quality a lot with my Sanyo Z4. Divx support is also marginally missed. when I started my research for a new player, I was amazed. BluRay, HD-dvd, format war... I decided "I want it all" (yes, I am a big Queen fan ), but I have enough boxes in my living room, so I want an "all-in-one" solution. Good news are Denon will release a multi-format player in the future, bad news are I don't know when, and it will be expensive (7000 euro!). So it will take even longer to have such a machine in the <1000 euro region. I wonder if I should go for a Denon 2930, which will improve every aspect but BR and HD-DVD, or I should keep saving for a universal HD player. Opinions?
