I currently have a Tosh SD330. I know that, theoretically, a progressive DVD player (say a Pioneer DV565) should offer an improved image.

Has anyone upgraded to progressive and was the improvement worth it?

    Thanks.

It is quite subjective, so you may need to demo, ideally.

I think though, the better the DVD player, the better the difference between interlaced and progressive. Hence why some people say "WOW" and some say "Mmmm, no difference"

Just got a Harmon Kardon DVD25 yesterday and hooked it up to my PA20 (same screen as a PWD6 I believe). This was replacing a Pioneer 515 connected via RGB and I have to say the difference in picture was huge!!
Brighter picture, more natural colours and much, much reduced picture noise as well.
    I'll go with "WOW".

Try running the DVD25 on RGB scart and let us know if the difference in picture quality against component is much worse.

I used to have a cambridge dv55, £150 from Richers, and a PW5. Prog scan was really noticeable even with that, particularly on dark, murky stuff like HP and the philsiphers wotsits, Blade Runner etc. Little or nothing on shrek-type stuff.

My spelling's got as bad as hornydragon's!
