My sister (thinks she) wants a HDD DVD recorder. They currently have a crappy mono TV & a cheap VCR - nothing else.

However, they want to be able to get their old VHS tapes onto DVD, having edited them.

I thought a HDD recorder might be the ticket.

Assuming this will work, whcih one shoudl they go for, bearing in mind the TV signel is on RF and I'm not even sure if the TV or VCR have scart (although I would have thought so).

As you can probably guess, picture quality is not their primary concern.

Was also thinking about getting one myself, so thought I might be able to get a 'bulk buy' deal somewhere - any tips?

    Cheers
    Al

Well if you need an RF output the Panasonic E85 has one but by default it is off so you would need to connect it to a Scart or AV equipped TV or VCR to view the menu to switch it on.
