im in las vegas nevada for a few days on holiday......went to "the oceans 18" hotel and cinema complex to watch GHOST TOWN yesterday.....the only time i have seen a worst pic was in a flea pit in amsterdam showing 70's porn......first the screen was 4.3 with a 16.9 film showing.....about 3 foot of picture either side of the screen, showing on the black surround curtain......the pic kept shaking as though a train was going past very close to the building.......and to top it all the sound kept jumping out of stereo......and all the sound was being forced out of the right side of the screen........which was as fuzzy as hell.....i stood this for about 20 mins then had to complain to the manager.....who could have not cared less......i got my $7.50 back after they wanted to give me a credit note.....i did not give a toss about the money.....it was the fact that they messed up my day that upset me......it made me laugh that the ticket office wall was covered with DTS and THX plaques....pinky

Well at least it was cheap enough. £3.80 or so a ticket. But still, thats more than i care to pay for cinema these days. how about a whopping £7.50 down my end.

God bless home cinema systems

You sound like a very 'hard to please' kind of person.

Thats not bad mate. It can easily be £20 quid (or at least close to it) in London, not that I go that far for the cinema that often.

OP, what the hell is wrong with a casino bar? The things you see, when I stayed in Vegas I loved seeing people staggering around at 9am that were still out from the night before and didn't have a clue what the time is:rotfl:!

You're in Vegas man! What the hell are you doing in a cinema!!??

You're in Vegas, I wouldn't let something like that ruin my day!

Either that or sit by a fruit machine putting in a dollar an hour and drink as much free beer as you can! I love Vegas, make the most of it:smashin:.

hard to please....i hope your taking the **** ????

unfortunately im not. Like the others said, your in Vegas and to let something as little like that spoil your day, is very strange.

You didn't say that originally though.

You stated that you were annoyed by the 1st showing (the art house/theatre) that you couldn't enjoy the latter part of your evening (the comedy show), for which you paid a lot more for.

I would find it very hard for something like a cinema outing to spoil such a fun evening, in LAS VEGAS an all.

ok....to close this matter....i would have thought anyone who uses this website would appretiate that any picture house displaying dts and thx signs by the plenty would expect a certain standard.....it would not matter if the price was $7.50 or $75.....a crap picture and crap audio would equate to crap night....pinky
