The R1 THX edition of Evil Dead 2.

I've never seen so many artifacts. THX certified indeed.

maybe my "official bootleg edition" of Army Of Darkness with VHS scenes reinserted. It's in the wrong aspect ratio, the PQ is terrible and it only has dolby 2.0 sound.. i really want to get the R3 director's cut version.

When you say worse do you mean in PQ etc or poor story/acting etc ? or both of course.

If it’s story wise then it has to be 28 Days Later.

If it’s disc wise then I can’t really remember, although the pq of my single disc R3 HoTD is pretty poor.

 Worse quality has to be some of the touch of frost dvds( sorry I know that they are not films, but it is an issue that I am actually dealing direct with Carlton Visual at the moment).

Worse film is one by steven seagal called out of reach. His voice is dubbed by another actor, who is worse than him!!!!!

On a normal television Blade Runner can look ok thanks to overscan and distance but watching it at an 80inch size in the dark you notice things like macroblocking and edge enhancement and the frame constantly moving side to side and worst of all its window boxed meaning black bars left and right not just up and down, its an absolutely terrible transfer by far the worst i have in my collection and nothing else comes close.

I, for some reason, thought it'd be a good idea to buy a copy of Star Trek 5 - even though I knew it was a poor film.

"It was cheap", is my only defence.....

yeah i agree its not the greatest transfer ever but i dont think they had a lot to work with, it was a pretty low budget movie, hence the grain. There is perhaps too much edge enhancement, but i suppose without it, too much definition would be lost within the grain.

Just be thankful you don't have the original R1 release which is rated as one of the worst dvd releases ever! I think the R2 one comes from the same print as the original R1 as well, the PQ on that is much worse than this new R1!!

The worst DVD release in the world ever: The region 2 release of Ken Burns' "Baseball"

An 18-hour documentary squeezed onto 4 discs - The first disc lasts for 6 hours (single-sided), so you can imagine how awful it looks. The pixellation is so bad on the archive footage that Babe Ruth looks like a pile of Lego bricks. Three episodes merged into one, so losing the "innings" structure of the original. Plus several serious audio and video glitches.

The second disc lasts for 6.5 hours and is even worse. At the start of the sixth inning, the whole thing turns B&W, even the interview segments that are meant to be in colour. 40 minutes from the end of the disc, the sound disappears as well.

I returned it to Play, who sent me another copy which had the same problems. I contacted Quantum Leap, who manufacture the discs, and they were aware of the problem, and said a new version would be issued in a couple of weeks. Given that the thing had been out for six months by this stage, I was inclined not to believe them. Play were good enough to give me a full refund, which I put towards importing the Region 1 version, which goes to the other extreme by being a 10-disc set, but looks wonderful.

For awful presentation and quality control - just look at the number of typos on the sleeve and chapter menus - nothing can outdo this release. Don't go near anything released by Quantum Leap.
