    Rise of the Robots.

A Playstation game where you played a soldier and the character said "you got me" as you die. Utter rubbish.

Yeah that was bad. In a similar vein anyone remember Clay Fighter?.......oh dear.

Rather than worst game ever I think one of the biggest disappointments for me fairly recently was Turok: Evolution.
    Shame :(

I've never understood the attraction to the Turok series. They all look like crap to me.

I think Superman on the N64 is supposed to be one of the absolute worst. I'd disqualify the really old systems (Atari, etc) because some of the games were really, really awful. I remember reading an article about the worst games ever, and apparently E.T. for Atari 2600 had so many unsold copies that they had to be buried in a huge landfill. :)

Out of the games i played i'd say Strider on the Megadrive was pretty awful and Moonwalker on the Master System was utter drivel!

E.T on atari 2600 was unplayable: u just fell down holes escaping from Keys and had to levitate out of them (very unsuccessfully: if you touched the sides of the ravine u died, just like real life).

Altered beast on megadrive was pants: I thought the megadrive vers of Moonwalker was worse than the master system (which is a shame as the arcade original was perversely brilliant).

How about Top Banana on the Amiga? Despite (unfathomably) having a cult reputation, the graphics and gameplay were so bad u couldn't actually tell what was going on, nor what to do!

Worse rpg i ever had the misfortune to pay good money for was Quest 64 on the N64! Graphically it was great with nice, bright colours and scenery but they forgot to put the gameplay in! From what i can remember it was rushed out unfinished for some reason. I didn't even get half way through it was that abysmal.

I've still got it too but i'll never play it again and i'm sure no bugger want to buy it off me! I'm open to offers though:D

My sister got ET for the 2600. After she cried at the cinema..snigger....I remember laughing at her (fighting back the tears myself :) ).

I don't remember too much about it. I remember one boring rainy sunday getting quite into it and solving a number of the puzzles. You had to collect bits of the phone or something like that. I didn't finish it but I got pretty close. So I'd like to save E.T. from room 101.

I've found it hard to think of a pants game. For the last 10 years I've only bought games that have received a number of good reviews. What about Fifa for the megadrive? It looked great but you had almost no control over the game. Always thought Missile Command was a steaming pile as well. Now that could kick things off ;)

The worst I played was on the PC (also available on Unix machines) - The Oracle Universal Installer.

could never finish it always managed to hit a brick wall, with each sequal it just got slower and slower.

An when you bought add on packs if you hadn;t completed the prevous game completely it wouldn't let you play the new add-on

I'd have to nominate 'A Boy and his Blob' on the NES thingy. Utterly baffling: when I was a student, not one of us could get more than about 10 minutes into it.

We've still got it, if anyone else wants to see how bad it really is...

I'll have to stick up for a Boy and his Blob, as I too had this game - it was baffling to start off with, and bloody hard all the way through, but it wasn't totally dire. You just had to learn what all the jelly beans did - and for those who have never seen or heard of this game, yes, it is that bizarre!!

Shaq Fu is another cack title.. But Rise of the Robots is probably the most popular atm. I'm sure there were quite a few poor titles back in the 80's but I can't remember them and they are hardly missed ^_^

Another vote for Rise of the Robots from me (CD32 version).

Even the so called groudbreaking graphics were crap.

My girlfriend at the time bought it for my birthday. She put it on to make sure it was working and completed the game first go by continually tapping the kick button.

    RDB :(

There was a game that was on one of them early CD consoles (CD-32/CD-I) that was based in a house. The people in the house were being killed off, and I think you had to solve it. It caused a outcry back then- it was going to be banned.

Anyone know what it was called?

Yes, Nighttrap it was, on the Mega CD (remember that?). It was gaming's first real "video nasty", with people from the Daily Mail - lots of offence intended to any readers of the Daily Mail btw - harping on about it's graphic Virtual Reality visuals (sic), which were actually rather crude FMVs. The most shocking thing about it was just how plain bad it was!!

I might as well go for the full list:

    The Sims
    EA's James Bond games
Medal Of Honour (all the re-hashes apart from the original and sequel, which were ok)
    Any EA sports game
    Any EA game in general
    Tomb Raider
Almost any movie tie-in you can name
Vice City - deserves to be listed twice because it's so bad - I actually wasted money to play this game...
Dancing or rhythm games in general

I think that's all of them :smoke:

I'd vote Daikatana on the PC.

Not that it is the worst game of all time in absolute terms, but relatively speaking (compared to its expectations & hype) it must rank as one of the biggest disappointments of all time.

Well I loved both GTA3 and Vice City can't understand what the problem is with those puppies.

I thought TombRaider was pretty special for its time too.

Worst game ever....Electraglide totally unplayable garbage on the CBM64. Race down road slow to a crawl so as to avoid big block...fail to avoid big block even though doing 2 miles and hour repeat ad infinitum.
