I've got some Sennheiser HD480 headphones that are about 10 years old.

I just tried using them after they languished in a drawer for a year or so, and the foam ear pads have completely perished.

Anyone know if it's possible to replace just the pads or do I need new phones ?

Sennheiser UK is on 0800 6525002. 10 years is about the maximum that companies keep spares for most product but its certainly worth a go.

I was able to get replacements for Beyer headphones that were over fifteen years old so I would hope that Sennheiser could match that.

I take it they are the ones with the padding as a ring?
If not Maplin do some replacement foams up to about 2 ¾ inches.

Yes call Sennheiser and ask them.

When I dealt with them the number for mail order spares was: 01727 851 596

I got some replacement foam pads for my 450s just last year, a pain to fit but great sound.

Unfortunately the foam cushioning on the headband is falling apart, other than that they're great.

I think I got my moneys worth by now, I had them from when I was at Uni and I graduated more than 10 yrs ago.

But anybody have any developments on this. I want new pads for my HD480 but 20 quid is a bit steep.
