It's been confirmed (in lots of different ways) that you can watch BBC on your Sky HD box (if you have one). The signal will not be encrypted. The key challenge is making sure you get a box......:)

To cut it short (it's been discussed hundreds of times), anyone with the right equipment will be able to see BBC HD for free. That means, anyone with a SkyHD box, anyone with TV-Drive from Telewest, and anyone else with HD capable sat receivers. On top of that, the BBC is trialling the Freeview broadcast too, but that is a limited trial with people who have a special Freeview box that was created accordingly.

Hope this helps and i hope i haven't left anything out..

Hi, I found this - Click on www.sky.com/hd and then from the menu select "what can i watch" then select BBC HD, it clearly states that the World cup will be broadcast as part of the BBC HD programming trial
