    Hi all...

Good news is ive got a punter for my rather dated Panny 42" 3 Series...

Plan is to upgrade to a model that can support the highest resolutions possible.. possibly up to 1080p.... certainly 576p.

Would like a high resolution panel 1024x1024 minimum...but as usual don't want to spend a small fortune. (sub £3000)... so Pioneer is out)

Currently im thinking Hitachi 400E after some excellent reviews and the native resolution. Unfortunatly, only place locally that has them is richer sounds, so have seen a pretty apauling demo...but i blame RS not the display at this point.

    Views plz....

    Thx
    Kev

Youve got smallish requirments then ! :D

1024 x 1024 is going down the ALiS route, Fujitsu and Hitachi (or Sony, Phillips and the rest).

Personally not a fan, having owned a Hitachi 42PD3000 for a few months, however lots of people are. Its worth looking into ALiS to see if its agreeable to you.

Where are you located? Nexnix in Horsham (http://www.nexnix.co.uk) will be able to demo the Fuji for you, as well as the other panels that have been mentioned.

433MXE is one of the best 40-something inch units out there, although I'd make sure you check your finances to see if you can get a 50inch unit. There are some cheap bargains to be had at the moment.

Vandem - care to elaborate a little more? If things go as planned, I'll potentially be getting a 503MXE in about a month's time, so would naturally be interested in where to go for one.

On the demo front, depends where you are.

There are a couple of decent AV Dealers who would be able to set you up decent, unbiased and correctly set up (very important I believe) demo's.

If your in the North then definatly take a trek to Joe Fernand www.tmfsolutions.co.uk , very knowledgable and worth putting a call into in any case.

Do let us know how you get on.
