As per the title our beloved number 7 needs an out of warranty repair!!

The wife and I sat down at the weekend to chill and watch a film in our new HT room  , turned on the pj, had an image for about 5mins and then nothing, a blank screen. :(

On power up all seems to sound normal, all fans are running but no picture. The front LEDS light up as

    coinc - amber
    hold down hd - off
    sf - off
    hold down eht - red
    standby - off
    -17v - green
    +hthd - green
    +conv - green
    +210v - green
    -9v - green
    +30v - green
    +9v - green
    +17v - green
    -conv - green

When looking at the tubes you can just about see a blurred and very dark image but no defined raster area. Also when you press the adjustment button, again nothing appears on screen.

I've done a search on the forums and from what I can gather it's possibly a power supply problem.

The pj is bolted to the ceiling, so would prefer a home visit. Could this repair be combined with a fan mod, make a trip a bit more worth while.

    :lease:

I'll put money this is either your quadruper or splitter gone bad.
I have a feeling you have been trying to reach me (sorry been buried inside a projector all day).

Is it a bird, is it a plane? Could this be Roland to the rescue?

If your offering your services Roland, that would be great news

quadruper, splitter  sounds too big a job for a diy.

Many thanks to James and especially Henry @ CRTpjs for sorting this out for me, the trip to Norfolk was time well spent and worth every mile.

What I thought was going to be a short visit, (I was quoted a half hour repair) turned out to be a great day out and an excellent CRT training session. :D

Henry, thanks for the repair, your hospitality, coffee and not forgetting the THX demo disc you gave me. ;)

    Kindest Regards

    surrey lad

P.s Roland, you was spot-on, it was the quadrupler, thanks.
