Hello all, just joined after browsing for a few days and what a great place for info.
Looking for a bit of advice wiring up my system, as just bought the Video 7 32" lcd tv, and want to upgrade my cheap scart and audio cables.
This is what I intend to do, any better advice would be greatfull.

Dvd player to tv, S-video cable and optical audio cable.
Cable box to video recorder, scart, then video recorder to scart "1" on tv.
Other scart on cable box to video sender.
Scart "2" on tv to audio left and right on Kenwood prologic amp.

Would this set up work ok, or can anyone suggest a better solution.

    Regards,

    Gordon

    Hi BigRed,
Can you let us know the make and model of your amp and how many (of what type) inputs it has?

    Thanks for the reply Knightshade.

Sorry for the lack of info on my first post.
My amp is a Kenwood KR-V5570.
Its only inputs are phono sockets.
    I currently have 2 spare, video 1 and 2.
I was just going to use the one, connecting to the sound output from scart "2" on the tv by breakout box.

I have just had another rethink and have changed my ideas slightly.
Here is what I am thinking about now.

Scart "1" on tv to dvd player.
Scart "2" on tv to scart adapter with breakout plugged into cable box.
L & R audio from scart breakout adapter to amp with phono plugs.
Multi scart box into other scart socket on cable box, then video recorder and video sender plugged into this by scart.

Hopefully this will give me decent connections for dvd player and cable box.
Also managing to pick up audio from breakout box for everything, allowing me to input this to kenwood amp.

Do you think this would be a better solution, and it might even work :)
At the moment I have such a mess of wiring, and also want to get rid of the cheap cabling i use at the moment.
    Any help would be great.

    Regards,

    Gordon
