Wiring long runs to outdoor speakers.

I'm running 100' leads to outdoor speakers from my AVR 3311ci. I have three zones so the 3311 should work fine.

Here's my problem. These long runs add up to lots and lots of speaker wire. My plan was to run 2 leads (4 wires) per zone, but was wondering if I could power the speakers with just 1 lead (2 wires). Can't remember what this is called technically but I recall it's how most factory car audio systems are wired.

Anyone ?
