A lot depends on the thickness of the walls, and the material that they are made from, the distance between the boxes, and whether there are any wi-fi networks nearby (wi-fi can interfere).

Hmmmm. There are 4 wi-fi networks going through my house - one of which is mine. So sounds like this may not be such a good idea.

I bought a £25 kit from Argos and it works brill! I have it going from my living room into my bedroom and i have brick walls in my house, not just plasterboard. Also i have my wireless broadband network and my wireless AV sender transmitting from right beside each other and have NO problems at all with either signal.

http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5344273.htm is the one i bought, although it looks slightly different - the transmitter/reciever is a little more angular and less curved in shape.
